I've been putting up with PowerAmp's quirks for years but I've had enough. The scanning issue just keeps getting worse. I use to be able to work around it by disabling auto-scan and loading mp3's in small groups. But now that doesn't even work. I load 100 songs and 20 end up filed as "Unknown Artist". It is scanning way too fast and struggles with tracks containing digits or symbols. It's been a problem for years and the developer just wants to blame google.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Tracks being incorrectly classified as “Unknown Artist” despite having valid tags is not expected behavior. Please contact [email protected] with a few affected files, your device/Android version, and Poweramp build so we can investigate the scanning/tag-reading issue.

Frustrating! Too much control is a bad thing. Getting it to play on wireless AA for more than 3 seconds was an ordeal, but with AI help I made the required setting changes after testing for weeks. NOW it refuses to cast to the chromecast speaker group. All other music apps cast flawlessly. So it's not the phone or the network, it's Poweramp. It was really good when it worked but it was a headache too. Had to delete.

Sorry for the frustration. Chromecast speaker groups should work correctly. Since other apps can cast to the group, we’d like to investigate. Please email [email protected] with your device model, Android version, Poweramp build, and Chromecast setup details so we can look into the issue.

I actually paid to "unlock" it quite some time back and experimented with it some back then. But, for some reason I put it on the back burner for awhile, forgot about it, and continued using my other 2 favorite music playing apps. And, today I decided to open Poweramp again and try to find why for sure I had decided to take a break from it. Couldn't find a reason. It's awesome, it works great, and I like/love it!!! Poweramp should add Automic Gain Control, though (for volume normalization). 👍
